the first week back 2011

Not sure where to start Its been such an exciting week back at it again in the country side of Emilia Romagna Italy. Carnival themed parties at Skate Parks, A Saturday bike ride to town and market and visiting friends, a little birthday get together or two,

a sudden 40cm of snow that threatened to collapse the roof of the converted pig barn we live in, Digging out cars and shoveling said snow off the roof and being ridiculously sore the next day, a fresh coat of paint and the rebuild of Loni,

the return of green curry squash soup, a little bit of artwork, a weekend playing tourist/guide to visiting Australian/Irish couple who is in the 14th month of traveling 25 countries (check their blog it will in fact Blow Your Mind!), new friends who have done amazing things on bikes,

Mullet wigs, a pizza party like no other, beers at the Clan, an outdoor concert performed in a store front window, bike rides in the sun watching the snow melt away, a true Italian Sunday lunch at Nona's house including 3 home made pastas and a fritatta and desert, wine tasting near the Farm, so much in a week - and I guess I worked to!

Promises to be an amazing summer, with language confidence a little higher, and new local friends who promise thrift stores and swimming holes...I think no matter how busy it is, and no matter how life changing last summer was, there is so much more in store...really excited to see where this takes me.

Wont you join me for a peek once in a while?
S.
