SERIOUSLY?!?!? I know Im supposed to be sad and missing my friends, and the creature comforts of being able to text homies from the shitter and everything (and I Am - Believe me!) But at 1 in the morning after my first full day back I can truly say that this is going to be an amazing summer and strangely enough it feels a little like home.
I landed just fine, albeit bereft of sleep in a big way, but I didnt drink much on the plane. Got most of it out the night before with Taint Boy and Jessie "helping me" pack my bike, and making a killer sushi spread for my SF hosts family. RAD! Can you dig a spicy tuna bacon roll?
you can save room packing if you chop your helmet in half...
always good to eat a good breakfast before a long travel day...
Touched down, got scooped up by the boss after having a cafe, hit a piadina stand before visiting a friend at the local skate shop, hitting the farm to big hellos and huggs all around. Set forth on claiming the big room with the windows, no CAVA for me this year!
Unpacked LONI and found treats inside the box,
3 bud cans and a card saying the feds looked inside.
I ate some food, had a shower and crashed out big time! Slept 10 hours and headed into Faenza after cappuccino. Met up with the crew at Casa Del Disco, walked to a new art clothing store where they are re-interpreting designer logos...funny stuff!
IZOD eating a dude...
and the Polo guy being be-headed by an Indian on his stolen horse...AMAZING!
they still ride in the cold...Then DJ Livia joined me on a ride to tour the Farm, something she had wanted to do last year and with the cold of winter I was shocked she wanted to ride, and super excited to show the place off. She went home and I found myself getting ready for a little fund raiser at the skate park in Ravenna (about an hour away with a stop for gas) Igor said it was a carnival theme so wear a costume. ARE YOU KIDDING!? DAY 1 and I'm getting to break out the goods already?!
our fearless mexican...
furthest traveled AND best costume!
DONE AND DONE!!
went back to Igors for a home cooked meal and a visit with Igor and Sara before taking the quiet dark road back to the Farm, knowing the roads the whole way, and feeling like the confidence I built last year sneak right up and give me a big fat high five.
Its gonna be a RAD season!
...as always more pics on facebook
talk soon
