Finally at the end of the season I had a chance to take some much needed R-n-R and get out into the grand wide open roads of what is quickly becoming one of my favorite regions of It-Lee...
Marche.
I could get into depth about how it was a life changing weekend, about opportunity, poetic license, and choices, about the importance of being patient, about taking a chance and allowing yourself to venture out beyond the walls of your comfort zone and the openness to recognize pure unaltered beauty when you see it... I could wax poetic about naked evenings and early mornings on a private beach, uninhibited by the societal norms I didn't even know I was susceptible to... I could paint pictures of seaside country, describe the flavours of a near perfect cappuccino after skipping dinner to camp illegally in a cliff-side construction site with an amazing view, and reminisce about keeping pace with groups of roadies in stretchy-pants and tap shoes while fully loaded with touring gear... I could simply smile and say it was amazing... But all of that would pale in comparison to seeing the photos for yourself.
In no particular order....

Not many pictures along the coast, had a great tail wind and was cooking along getting hungry for the next food stop before climbing up over Ancona to Monte Conero |

more afternoon grey skies and a little midnight rain, but dry and sunny in the morning. |
A beach this big this late in the season means one thing... no need to get your swimsuit wet, swim, eat, camp, wake up and swim again, all in the suit you were born in. A liberating end of season treat to be sure! |
