Sobriety is easy when your broke...

But I am surprised to find out how easy it is to be broke when you're sober.  who knew?!

The last few weeks have been filled with everything BUT booze!  Museums, Galleries, Theatre...its been nice to just be the person I want to be and not worry about the impression management.  And there is a sneaky satisfaction when people verbally assume that your are going out to party, or that you are tired from partying, and you get to inform them you were actually supporting a friend and colleague by attending their debut theatre performance. Let it not be said that I am anything but a complex man...ha!

After a month of taking great care of myself mentally, physically and spiritually, a month spent searching out new experiences and new friends to share them with, I decided to break my fast with a little joint-birthday celebration for a couple friends appropriately themed...The Porno Party.

blowing out the candles on a dick shaped cake...classy ladies...reeeeeaaal classy...

not as funny as your 60something Italain Mom giggling her ass off cause she is embarrassed and not sure how to decorate the giant cake she offered to make for the party...

Now some of you might remember that I had the idea for a costume back in 2007 when working for that big corporate brewery in Fort Collins Colorado, but was discouraged from actually making the costume due to the fact that there would be kids present for the bike parade...yeah, whatever.  The idea has not left my jumbled head and a porno party in a foreign language with a complete disguise was a PERFECT opportunity to unveil the world's newest Luchador-inspired Mexican superhero...

El Vibrador.

The Italians as dirty as they are, loved it! And I cant say it was anything less than completely satisfying to walk up to friends, strangers and crushes from years past and say hello with a little BUZZ!  The batteries did not even last the night, thankfully the "battery bullet belts" were ready for the long haul.

Kissing booth fund raiser was a hit with El V and the ladies...as was the upstairs "photo booth" which proved tasteless and hilarious at the hands of THIS guy...who was only wearing a sock under his jeans, which he would periodically drop just cause...

This was the most common look of the evening...

Saturday I continued my exploration of local culture, having spent previous weekends in museums and attending the theatre...I KNOW!...WHO IS THIS GUY!?!?!...by playing a few rounds of "Pela Galeto" (an action packed fast "war"-like card game that is wicked fun!) having coffee nearby with Bruno and his daughter who teaches Italian in Denver Colorado of all places, and going for an EPIC sunday ride that lasted almost 11 hours (including gelato)!!!!

Im knackered, hungry, and quite happy to be making this my home for a bit...
